Julian Assange is facing some serious accusations and possible 175 years in jail after being deported to the U.S. as an australian citizen after having a fishy legal case in Sweden, but let us break it down in simple terms:
They say he did some hacking stuff, but that's not true.
He's not a hacker, he actually used to be a cipherpunk in his youth and went behind bars for that one. They are twisting the truth here. He's clearly a journalist, someone who exposes the truth.
J. is like the G.O:A:T of Journalism.
And that's exactly why his foes want him dead.
See, Assange did something that powerful folks didn't like. He leaked by far the biggest treasure trove of classified information ever revealed to show the world what's really going on. He ain't no whistle blower, he's a truth teller in anonymous contact with whistle blowers, letting us know what's happening behind closed doors.
But they want to keep him locked up, make him pay for telling the truth. This is so wrong. When Nils Melzer tried to help Assange, he could at least show clearly that the global system is totally corrupt.
Time to stand up for justice.
This is a fight for the truth, for journalism, and for our right to know what's happening in the world.
